is in atlanta with his team. san francisco police say the alleged sexual assault involving 49ers' michael crabtree occurred in a san francisco hotel room last sunday morning after the 49ers play-off victory over the green bay packers. today, crabtree was practicing with the team in santa clara. our cameras caught him literally running late to board the team bus as it was en route to the airport and then on to atlanta. in a news release, the san francisco police department said, quote, michael crabtree has been interviewed with his lawyer present and has cooperated in this investigation. michael crabtree has not been detained or arrested and has agreed to make himself available to investigators in the future. the 49ers say they are aware of the allegations against crabtree and say they take such matters very seriously. the team says they have no further comment at this point, as the legal process is ongoing. tonight, many 49ers' sports fans say no one should rush to judgment until the investigation is complete. >> i don't -- i think she's lying. why w

. but first, let's bring in my colleague, victor blackwell, who's back in atlanta. victor, i know you have some of the latest news on some of the other stories that we're watching this morning. >> indeed, randi. thanks. we're starting with this really bizarre story about the notre dame linebacker, manti te'o. in an interview, he denied having any part in the fake girlfriend story, except being the victim of a cruel hoax. te'o spoke with espn's jeremy schaap off-camera about the ordeal. >> i would say during the entire two hours that we spoke, he was completely composed, he betrayed no nervousness, he had maybe full command of the story, suggests that it's a story, rather than the truth. but he had a full command of everything that i posed. >> te'o told espn that a man named ronaiah tuiasosopo admitted to being behind this hoax. now, he showed them a tweet, supposedly an apology from tuiasosopo. cnn has not confirmed the tweet or tuiasosopo's involvement. we went to tuiasosopo's home, but the person there would not comment. >>> let's stick with sports. in part two of lance armstrong's inter
wide receiver michael crabtree. the 25-year-old is now in atlanta preparing for tomorrow's big game against the falcons but closer to home, san francisco police say they interviewed michael crabtree along with his attorney about the alleged attack at a hotel early sunday morning. it happened just a few hours after the teen's win over the green bay packers at candlestick park last weekend. crabtree played a huge role in the win with nine catches for nearly 120 yards and two touchdowns. 49er fans we talked with were surprised to hear about the investigation but say they want more information. >> i don't know. i'm hoping it's not true. we need him out there this sunday, so i'm hoping it all works out for him. >> his on field performance is great, don't know anything about the guy off the field. >> reporter: does it matter? are you -- >> well, yeah, if he's guilty, it kind of matters. >> reporter: guilty or not? >> i don't know, innocent until proven guilty. >> i don't know. i haven't heard enough information, so, i don't know. i can't say. >> the 49ers released a statement that says in
a bart station in san lee an dough. excitement grows for 49ers fans. mike shumann is live in atlanta. >>> a high surf advisory and a big scare for surfers in san francisco today. abc7 news at 6:00 starts now. >> ama: good evening, i'm ama daetz. we begin with breaking news. a water main break has flooded part of foothill boulevard in san leandro. we're live with the details. reporter: it's quite a mess out here. in fact, take a look at this. this is not a river. this is actually foothill boulevard. northbound lanes were shut down for an hour between carolyn and manchester due to a water main break. chp have just re-opened the road. it sent a lot of water gushing out, down foothill boulevard. the source of the break is two blocks from where we are. chp says it's a pipe which carries water from chabot reservoir. crews have been shutting the water off. no homes, no property has been flooded. we're about a block from the 580 onramp. we're told in water was flooding on to the freeway. we have not seen any of that. just a couple of very large puddles. and as i just said, foothill boulevard

as the eye can see in this town about an hour north of atlanta. again, a funnel just crossing the interstate here in adairsville. for 20 minutes an f-2 tornado with wind estimated at 125 miles an hour demolished homes and businesses and pulled down power lines. >> there was no warnings from no sirens, no nothing. >> i was so scared it just picked me up and slinged me three times. >> reporter: overturned cars littered major georgia roads. and the twister picked up 18-cheelers and tossed them around like toys. >> i couldn't believe it picked my truck up and flipped it over lick that. i mean, i can't believe it. >> reporter: one person was killed in georgia. another death reported in tennessee when a tree fell on a shed where a man sought shelter. tornados there packed winds up to 115 miles an hour causing more misery. in indiana, a storm system left thousands in the dark and destroyed dozens of homes. >> i didn't know if i was going to make it through it or not. >> reporter: extreme weather marching across the country brought heavy rains and flooding to other areas. strong winds blew through n
